The Division of Interventional Radiology and Image-Guided Medicine provides cutting-edge treatments for patients with a range of conditions. The division's faculty members are field leaders who serve patients from the initial evaluation to careful assessment and treatment with personalized care.
In addition to image-guided treatment for peripheral vascular disease, vascular malformations, and venous disease such as deep venous thrombosis, we also perform varicose vein and dialysis interventions. Our interventional radiologists use innovative non-surgical therapies to help patients with symptomatic uterine fibroids as well as patients experiencing certain nerve pain syndromes. We also provide comprehensive interventional oncologic care for cancers of liver, kidney, lung, and bone at Emory Winship Cancer Institute, a National Cancer Institute-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Clinical activities are supplemented by innovative research, particularly of cancer treatments with

Advanced Practice Providers
Celebrating Our APPs
Our Advanced Practice Providers are nurse practitioners and physician assistants practicing at the top of their licenses. They provide direct patient care as essential members of our interventional radiology team. Each APP is trained to perform a wide range of image-guided procedures ranging from abscess drainage and paracentesis to biopsies. They additionally handle outpatient clinics and inpatient consultations. Take an insider's look at how we onboard new APPs and learn how our APP team at Emory John's Creek Hospital provides care to patients in the metro Atlanta suburbs.
