The Division of Emergency and Trauma Imaging extends the services of its subspecialty-trained radiologists to Emory's network of hospitals including Emory University Hospital (EUH), Emory University Hospital Midtown (EUHM), Wesley Woods (WW), Emory University Orthopaedics & Spine Hospital (EUOSH) and Grady Hospital. The division is growing to meet the increasing demand for imaging services for hospitals' emergency departments and off-hours STAT inpatient cases. The division has particular expertise in providing the highest level of patient care and customer service when completing interpreting imaging studies and providing consultations under tight time constraints.
The division also leads the Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences' planning for mass-casualty events in coordination with Emory's Office of Critical Event Preparedness and Response (CEPAR). Imaging services are vital to an effective medical response to natural disasters, large-scale aviation or vehicular accidents, and even tragedies like large-scale shootings, so, the division ensures Radiology's human and technological resources are ready for deployment across the Emory Healthcare system should disaster strike.
