Dr. Buchwald is a physician-scientist studying ways to enhance the immune response against melanoma and other cancers using radiation.
Dr. Buchwald graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a BA in history, and completed his PhD in Immunology and his MD in Medicine at St. Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri. He completed his residency in Radiation Oncology at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia serving as co-chief resident in his final year. During residency, Dr. Buchwald completed a prestigious research fellowship, the Holman Pathway.
He joined the Department of Radiation Oncology as an Assistant Professor in 2020.
