William S. Dynan, PhD

Dr. Dynan began his academic career at the University of Colorado, was recruited to the Medical College of Georgia (now a unit of Augusta University) in 1995, and joined Emory University in 2012. His h-index is 45, and he received the Emory Millipub award in 2012 in recognition of publications that have been cited more than 1000 times each. He has trained more than 50 undergraduates, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows.
Dr. Dynan received his SB degree from MIT and his PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of California-Berkeley, where he was a Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation fellow and a Senior Fellow of the American Cancer Society (California Division).
Lahcen Jaafar, PhD
Research Associate
Dr. Jaafar received his PhD at the University of Valencia, Spain and was a postdoctoral fellow at the Medical College of Georgia (now a unit of Augusta University). He joined the Emory University Departments of Radiation Oncology and Biochemistry in 2012 as a Research Associate. His specialties are biochemistry and molecular biology, and his major accomplishments at Emory University include reconstitution of the nonhomologous end joining reaction in vitro from recombinant proteins. He is currently working to identify biomarkers of persistent galactic cosmic ray-induced genomic stress.
