In late July, the Emory Department of Radiation Oncology accepted five awards for high performance on patient satisfaction surveys from Emory Healthcare's Physician Group Practice. The awards, officially announced during Patient Experience Week in April, recognized departments who ranked highly on patient satisfaction survey data from September 2019 through March 2020. The Department of Radiation Oncology, which received the second largest number of awards, placed among the top scores in four categories.
The prestigious Highest Performance Award represents achieving the highest scores in patient satisfaction across all divisions under the Physician Group Practice.
The Magnet Excellence awards are presented to the division that receives the highest patient satisfaction results for the Magnet Nursing survey questions. The Winship Department of Radiation Oncology was awarded high marks in patient education and careful listening with a score of over 95% in both categories.
The department scored 96.17%, one of the top five highest scores in the category, for the Highest Teamwork Award.
Recipients of the Domain Domination awards excel in one of six patient experience domains. Winship radiation oncology scored 96.2% on the patient survey question that measured how well patients felt their nurse/assistant listened to them.
Recipients of the Patient Experience Performance Awards were officially announced at a virtual ceremony on April 30, 2020.
