Winship's Department of Radiation Oncology will welcome four new residents to the physician residency program.
Current fourth-year medical students Naba Ali from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, Matthew R. Gallitto from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, Joshua W. Lorenz from Medical College Wisconsin, and Jacob F. Wynne from Emory University School of Medicine were selected for the prestigious training program.
The new residents will complete a yearlong internal medicine internship at the Emory University School of Medicine before beginning their training with faculty in the radiation oncology department.
"We are thrilled to have such highly qualified candidates join our physician residency program," says Residency Program Director Pretesh Patel, MD, "We look forward to the challenge of training future leaders in our field."
The new residents were matched with the Department of Radiation Oncology during National Match Day held every year on the third Friday in March. Medical students across the nation are paired with a residency program by the National Resident Matching Program.
