Winship Radiation Oncology chief residents Matthew Ferris, MD and Robert Press, MD, were selected to serve as the 2018 Dr. Andrew W. Pippas residents in radiation oncology. A generous gift from the Amos Family Foundation honors Dr. Andrew W. Pippas of the John B. Amos Cancer Center in Columbus, Georgia. Drs. Press and Ferris were honored for their excellence in professionalism and compassionate and ethical patient care.
Walter J. Curran, Jr., MD, Winship executive director and radiation oncology department chair, says "The Pippas Residency Grant is an important achievement for radiation oncology residents. Exemplary leaders and skilled physicians, Bob and Matt are more than deserving of this prestigious award from the Amos Family Foundation. We appreciate their service to the Winship Department of Radiation Oncology."

Since 2005, the radiation oncology residency has designated two residents as the Dr. Andrew W. Pippas Residents.
