Overview
The Department of Radiation Oncology is part of Emory University School of Medicine and Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University and has established its commitment to providing the latest radiation therapy treatment options to patients through investigative research and training programs for the next generation of leaders in radiation oncology, medical physics, and cancer biology.
Our department has faculty and staff in three divisions, and these are clinical affairs, cancer biology, and medical physics. Together physicians, physicists, cancer biologists, advanced practice providers, dosimetrists, radiation therapists, nurses, social workers, and administrative staff work together to deliver innovative patient-centered cancer care with techniques, treatment options, and technologies developed by department faculty.
Department faculty and staff practice at the following facilities in Atlanta: Winship at Clifton Campus, Winship at Emory Midtown, Winship at Emory Saint Joseph’s Hospital, and the Emory Proton Therapy Center. In addition, departmental physicians also practice at the Atlanta Veterans Affairs Medical Center and Georgia Cancer Center for Excellence at Grady Memorial Hospital
