Nadine J. Kaslow, PhD, ABPP, is the first Vice Chair for Faculty Development in the Emory Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, a position she has held since 2008. In 2019, her title expanded to encompass the breadth of her roles and responsibilities, and she now serves as the Vice Chair for Faculty Development, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. She facilitated the creation of the Faculty Development Committee and the Promotions Committee, both of which she chairs, as well as the Women Faculty Subcommittee and the Racial, Ethnic, and Cultural Minority Faculty Subcommittee. Under her leadership, the department now has a comprehensive faculty mentorship program, faculty awards program, and systematic approach to prepare faculty members for promotion. Within the department, she coordinates the quarterly faculty development seminars, quarterly leadership development seminars, and monthly writing group meetings, as well as the monthly kudos that highlight accomplishments of faculty, staff, and trainees within the department.
Rachel J. Ammirati, PhD, is Assistant Vice Chair for Faculty Development – New Initiatives. In this role, she works closely with the Vice Chair of Faculty Development on creating, implementing, and evaluating new faculty development initiatives in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. Currently, she is co-leading a new program that aims to enhance mentorship for junior faculty in the department through peer mentoring. She also is an active member of the Faculty Development Committee, Co-Director of Psychology Continuing Education for the Emory University School of Medicine, and Co-Chair of the Advisory Board for the new Emory-Addis Ababa Education Innovation Community of Practice Program. Clinically, Dr. Ammirati is based within the Grady Health System and provides evidence-based clinical services to adults living with HIV/AIDS at the Grady Infectious Disease Program.
Andrew C. Furman, MD, is Assistant Vice Chair for Faculty Development – Promotions. In this role, he works closely with the Vice Chair on matters relating to promotions in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. Dr. Furman has been a member of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences’ Committee on Appointments and Promotions since 2012. He also serves as the Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs in the School of Medicine, helping to oversee Appointments and Promotions, as well as Clinical Distinctions in the School of Medicine. Clinically, Dr. Furman is based at Executive Park/Brain Health Center. He teaches extensively in the School of Medicine as a Small Group Advisor, as well as in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and in the Leadership Development Program of the Emory (Goizueta) School of Business.
Erica D. Marshall-Lee, PhD, is Assistant Vice Chair for Faculty Development – Diversity. In this role, she works closely with the Vice Chair of Faculty Development to support and build the faculty development diversity portfolio in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences including but not limited to the efforts of the Diversity and Inclusion Subcommittee; Women Faculty Subcommittee; and the Racial, Ethnic, and Cultural Minority Faculty Subcommittee. Currently, she is a member of the Advisory Board for the new Emory-Addis Ababa Education Innovation Community of Practice Program. Clinically, Dr. Marshall Lee is based within the Grady Health System and is the Clinical Director of the Psychosocial Rehabilitation/Peer Program that provides clinical services to adults with serious mental disorders at the Grady Behavioral Health Center. She also serves as Practicum Director for Emory at Grady sites
