The postdoctoral residency program has adapted the training experience in response to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. All postdoctoral residents are required to show proof of vaccination (including booster) for COVID-19 prior to beginning their training and will be expected to receive any additional required vaccinations related to the virus. These requirements are consistent with the requirements for all healthcare staff members throughout all our health systems.
Psychology residents are regarded as essential employees, which means they are expected to conduct their clinical roles and responsibilities in accordance with institutional policies and safety protocols of the University and clinical settings in which they are completing their training. A hybrid model of on-site face-to-face and telehealth/video conference clinical and training activities is being employed, although most positions are primarily in person.
Emory has two policies that are relevant for trainees that need accommodations or a leave related to COVID-19. You may
- Contact the Department of Accessibility Services to complete the Employee Accommodation Request form
- Initiate a Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) leave request through the Emory Employee Relations site
We are committed to continued eminence in education, research, clinical training and service delivery and this can only be done with the mental and physical health of our residents.
