Donna Tsai attended the University of California, Berkeley for undergraduate, where she majored in Psychology and graduated with highest honors. Afterwards, she joined Teach For America, and earned her MEd from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She worked as a 3rd and 4th grade public school teacher for seven years in Las Vegas before pursuing medicine. She matriculated at the Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. There, she was awarded the Clara Rosenstein Kraff Scholarship Award for outstanding potential, personal characteristics, and unique contributions to the university. She was selected for the Sinai Urban Health Institute Summer Research Program, where she assisted with epidemiological research on depression and PTSD in Chicago communities. She was active in the medical school community, volunteering in a leadership role at the university’s Interprofessional Community Clinic.
