Sumeet Sharma completed his undergraduate work at Cornell University and is staying at Emory for residency having been an MD/PhD student working in Kerry Ressler and Peng Jins’ laboratories. His dissertation work was highly translational in nature, pairing large genomic data sets from individuals with trauma with animal models of stress. Sumeet has published extensively in journals such as the Journal of Genetics and Genomics, PLoS Genetics, Frontiers in Psychiatry, and Progress in Neuro-Psychopharmacology & Biological Psychiatry. In addition to his research, Sumeet volunteered at the Clarkston Clinic providing primary care services to the local immigrant and refugee population and taught science to children at a local elementary school and at the local science museum.
