Kate graduated from Emory University with a degree in neuroscience and behavioral biology before attending medical school at the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine. In medical school, Kate was elected by her peers to the Gold Humanism Honor Society and was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha. In addition to her strong academic record, she has been active in multiple organizations and assumed several leadership positions including vice president of the Psychiatry Interest Group and class secretary. She volunteered in multiple organizations including MedZou, a student-run clinic that provides healthcare to local underinsured and uninsured members of the community.
