She/Her/Hers
Haley’s interest in psychiatry stemmed from her volunteer experiences with the Alzheimer’s Association, beginning at the age of fourteen. She volunteered at the Walk to End Alzheimer’s and helped in facilitating support groups to educate families of patients with newly diagnosed Alzheimer’s disease. Along with having extensive community service involvement, Haley also has a great passion for advocacy. She served a two year term on Missouri Congressman Lacy Clay’s Youth Congressional Cabinet, later serving as Vice President. Following high school, Haley was accepted into the combined Baccalaureate/MD program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. During medical school, she has been involved in leadership positions including serving as the president of the Balint Group and Vice President of the Psychiatry Interest Group. Her continued interest in medical advocacy led to her serving as delegate for her school’s chapter of the AMA. During her involvement, she visited Capitol Hill for the Medical Student Advocacy & Region Conference where she was able to discuss important healthcare legislative issues, including the opioid epidemic, with staffers of various congressmen. Haley enjoys Indian Classical Dancing and has traveled and performed in different cities in India to raise funds for a non-profit organization dedicated to cancer awareness and treatment. Other interests include swimming, piano, long distance running and international travel.
