Stephanie graduated from Dartmouth College where she majored in biology. She then attended Emory for medical school where she was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha. While at Emory, Stephanie worked with the NIA Project, a clinical-research program at Grady which studies innovative, culturally competent services for African American women who have experienced domestic violence and suicidality. Stephanie has been active in advocacy for immigrant and refugee communities, stemming from her experiences as the daughter of Taiwanese immigrants. She also worked as the clinical coordinator for the Harriet Tubman Women’s Clinic, which serves one of the nation’s largest refugee communities. Stephanie was instrumental in proposing and developing a new medical school policy that gives medical students protected time during clerkships for well-being.
