Mackenzie Jones completed her undergraduate work at Columbia University, where she received several prestigious awards for her service to the community. She is coming to Emory from the MD/MPH program at the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine, where she was named to the Gold Humanism Honor Society and graduated with research distinction. She has been an active researcher, having published sixteen papers on topics including psychosis and PTSD. Working towards her MPH degree, Mackenzie partnered with the Cisalva Institute in Colombia on projects that contribute to the prevention of violence and unintentional injuries in the country with a focus on intimate partner violence. She has volunteered her time in medical school for Project Medishare in rural Haiti as well as the Human Rights Clinic of Miami, which provides physical and psychiatric evaluations for asylum seekers. In her spare time, Mackenzie enjoys rock climbing, whitewater kayaking, running, cycling and swimming.
