Daeja attended Kennesaw State University where she studied chemistry before beginning medical school at Emory University. Throughout medical school, Daeja showed a commitment to working with underserved communities by organizing local events in her role as President of SNMA. She also served as a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Racial Advocacy Representative for her class and was recognized for her leadership as the sole recipient of the Hamilton E. Holmes Scholar Award. She also volunteered as a NIA Project group therapy assistant at Grady and assists African-American women who have suffered Intimate Partner Violence and are experiencing suicidal ideation. Outside of medicine, Daeja is an avid kickboxer and enjoys making floral arrangements for herself and friends.
