Eric received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University where he majored in Psychology and minored in Spanish. He then attended medical school at Indiana University School of Medicine and was involved in multiple school groups related to mental health and disability. He founded the IUSM Best Buddies Citizens Chapter, a group that pairs medical students with adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) to create mutual friendships and raise awareness of IDD. He also conceptualized and implemented Mental Health Day at the local student-run free clinic, a project dedicated to providing mental health services for the underserved population of Indianapolis. Lastly, Eric serves as one of the founders and leadership members for Prescribe it Forward, a national non-profit organization that provides underrepresented or disadvantaged undergraduate students with free mentorship for the medical school application process. His interests outside of medicine include world travel, hiking, sports, and playing piano.
