Get to Know Nazaree
- Hometown: Fort Lauderdale, FL
- Professional Interests: I really like the intersection of medicine and psychiatry, so perhaps consult-liaison psychiatry. I haven’t had the opportunity to work in the PES yet, but perhaps emergency psychiatry. I’m open to a lot and ready to learn and find my niche in psychiatry as I grow throughout residency.
- Future Plans: I would like to think of myself as a blank canvas in the realm of psychiatry. A fellowship to get more specialized training seems very appealing and I would definitely like to go into academics, at least for a while.
- Awards: NIH T35 Training Grant and Haulfer Psychiatry Award
- Memberships: Gold Humanism Honor Society and American Psychiatric Association
- Hobbies: I love to read and look forward to joining or starting a book club amongst my fellow co-residents! If there’s a way I can get my body moving, whether skating, biking or some other activity I’ll be there. I love cooking and finding new recipes and have found so much joy in hosting my friends together so we can all bond over food. Food is a way I show my value for others.
