Within the psychiatry residency program, we have three specialty tracks: global and population health, psychotherapy, and research. A formal research track is available for residents who wish to pursue a career as a clinical scientist. The goal of the track is to provide interested residents with specialized research training and experiences, mentoring them towards a research-focused career. A formal psychotherapy track is available for interested residents. The goal of the track is to provide an intensive experience for residents interested in deepening and broadening their understanding and technical proficiency in psychotherapy. A population and global health track is available to educate psychiatrists in the principles of population and global mental health so that they may deliver culturally-informed care to a diverse set of patients in the US and around the world.
In addition, The Emory University School of Medicine and Graduate Medical Education (GME) have developed residency tracks to complement residency training. Tracks are available in global health, quality improvement/patient safety, medical education, ethics, and healthcare management.Â
