First Year
During the first year, the focus is largely on inpatient and C/L psychiatry, with some additional outpatient experiences. Rotations are generally in 1-2 month blocks. First year fellows start taking q3-4 week call in August. Below is a brief description of rotations.
- C/L Psychiatry at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (4 months)
- 3 months at Egleston Hospital and 1 month at Scottish Rite Hospital
- Inpatient, Partial Hospitalization, and Residential Treatment for Youth (5-6 months)
- Hillside: residential and day treatment programming with focus on DBT
- Ridgeview: adolescent inpatient and partial hospitalization experience at a private hospital
- Veritas: eating disorder assessment and treatment (care spans inpatient, residential, IOP, and outpatient services)
- Outpatient Experiences (2-3 months)
- Emory Autism Center: outpatient experience with children with ASD including preschool/school consultation, ADOS observations and social skills programming for young adults
- Emory Neurodevelopment and Exposure Clinic: assessment and management of neurobehavioral disorders in children with in-utero exposure to alcohol or other substances
- Emory Outpatient Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Clinic (therapy +/- medication management longitudinal clinic; includes both individual and family therapy experiences)
- Outpatient Neurology: clinic covers epilepsy, headache, neurodevelopmental disorders, PNES, and sleep disorders
Second Year
The second year consists of longitudinal outpatient experiences. Below is a brief description of rotation sites.
- Emory Outpatient Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Clinic (therapy and medication management)
- CHRIS 180: community mental health
- Georgia State University Counseling Center: college mental health
- Marcus Autism Center: outpatient clinic for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders
- Peachtree Psychiatric Professionals: private practice
- VA Hospital: parenting group x 6 months
- Scholarly time
- Additional elective time
