The Emory University Psychoanalytic Institute (EUPI) has two organizational affiliations, with responsibilities to each:
Emory University: EUPI is a component of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences of the Emory University School of Medicine. EUPI is dependent upon and responsible to the Department Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences in all administrative and financial matters.
The American Psychoanalytic Association: EUPI is an approved psychoanalytic educational program of the American Psychoanalytic Association.
The International Psychoanalytic Association: EUPI faculty are active in this international organization.
In addition to the above organizations, we work closely with these programs in Atlanta:
- Atlanta Foundation for Psychoanalysis
- Emory University’s Program of Psychoanalytic Studies
The Emory University Psychoanalytic Institute works in close collaboration with institutes in the southeastern region to offer specific courses of study:
- A Joint Pathway in Child Psychoanalysis and Adult Psychoanalytic Training: Southeastern Child Analytic Consortium and the Cincinnati Psychoanalytic Institute
- An Inter-Institute Collaborative Psychoanalytic Case Conference with the Psychoanalytic Center of the Carolinas
