Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging

The department has created an infrastructure to advance diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging and social justice within our department and beyond. This includes:

  • Vice Chair for Faculty Development and Diversity Equity and Inclusion – Nadine J. Kaslow, PhD, ABPP
  • Assistant Vice Chair for Faculty Development – Diversity Equity and Inclusion – Erica Marshall Lee, PhD, ABPP
  • Diversity Leaders Group comprised of the Vice Chair and Assistant Vice Chair, Co-Chairs of the Women Faculty Subcommittee, Co-Chairs of the Racial Ethnic and Cultural Minority Faculty Subcommittee and Resident DEI Co-Chiefs
  • A committee structure that includes the: Diversity Inclusion and Social Justice Committee, Women Faculty Subcommittee, Racial Ethnic and Cultural Minority Faculty Committee and Resident DEI Committee

Diversity, Inclusion and Social Justice Committee

The mission of DISC is to foster and ensure the sustainability of a diverse, equitable, inclusive and socially just culture in which all members of the department feel respected, supported and valued; are recognized for their unique and collective contributions; feel safe and brave enough to engage in dialogue, question, learn and grow; can contribute meaningfully and to their fullest potential; and have a sense of belonging within the departmental community.

Racial, Ethnic and Cultural Minority Faculty Subcommittee

The mission of RECM is to promote awareness of issues related to race, ethnicity, and culture among the faculty in our department and to provide a source of safety and support, as well as education and other resources.

Women Faculty Subcommittee

The mission of the WFS is to promote a culture that actively supports the successful professional and personal development of all women faculty in our department through education, advocacy and mentoring.

Resident DEI Committee

The mission of the Resident DEI Committee is to work with faculty and administration to problem-solve diversity issues and assist with diversity-related recruitment efforts.
