Neuromuscular Program
The Neuromuscular program provides a multidisciplinary team approach and consists of a pediatric neurologist, physiatrist, pulmonologist, cardiologist, endocrinologist, neuropsychologist, nurse practitioner, PT/OT, genetic counselor, nursing team, orthotics, nutrition, social work, research coordinator, and a MDA representative. This program cares for patients who have Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophy, Limb Girdle muscular dystrophy, Spinal Muscular Atrophy, Congenital muscular dystrophies/ myopathies, Myasthenia Gravis, Myotonic dystrophy, Charcot-Marie tooth, Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy, Friedrich’s ataxia, acute flaccid myelitis. Patients have access to pediatric electromyography, genetic testing and muscle biopsies. The Neuromuscular program also offers novel therapies such as Spinraza™ and Exondys51™. We are proud to be a part of clinical trials and national registries in collaboration with Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia in order to offer cutting edge research opportunities to the patients that we serve.
