Meet the Fellows
Current Fellows

Taylor Ford, MD
Medical school: University of Utah
Residency: University of New Mexico
I was raised in a small town about one hour south of Salt Lake City, Utah. I attended undergraduate and medical school at the University of Utah. After graduation in 2018, I headed to one of my Four Corners neighbors for pediatric residency at the University of New Mexico! I couple matched here with my now husband, who is a psychiatrist. It was residency that really solidified my love for inpatient medicine – I loved caring for pediatric patients with a myriad of acute medical issues. I could treat a teenager with hyperthyroidism, discharge a baby after recovering from viral bronchiolitis, discuss complex care management with a tracheostomy/ventilator dependent patient, and train medical students on nephrotic syndrome…all before lunch. After residency, I completed a pediatric chief year and worked for another year as a hospitalist, while my husband finished fellowship in Child and Adolescent psychiatry. I am so excited to make the move over to the East Coast to train at Emory! I have already learned so much in the realm of quality improvement and patient advocacy. In my free time, I love to spend time with my husband and our dog, Luna, exploring the trails in the city of Atlanta (it’s not the Rocky Mountains – but I was pleasantly surprised!) I also love to bake, am an avid member of Orange Theory, and recently took up crocheting!

Madhuri Prasad, MD
Medical School: University of Tennessee College of Medicine
Residency: Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital
I was born in Alabama and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. I had always dreamed of becoming a doctor but didn't fully know I wanted to do pediatrics until I was on my pediatric hospital medicine rotation during medical school. There, I developed a love and passion for taking care of hospitalized children. To me, being a hospitalist meant being the diagnostician, figuring out the diagnosis and treatment for a patient, and it meant being the leader and educator for a team of residents and medical students. The PHM fellowship at Emory University and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta has provided me opportunities to lead and educate residency teams while also diagnosing and treating patients with complex medical conditions and has provided me opportunities via tracks to further my research and medical education skills. Currently, I am doing a medical education track and am also a student of the QI Academy. It's been such an amazing experience so far! Outside of the hospital, I enjoy finding new restaurants in and around the Atlanta area, travelling, and spending time with my family and friends!

Heather Hirsch MD, MPH
Medical School: University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences
Residency: Emory University School of Medicine
I am originally from Little Rock, Arkansas where I obtained a Medical Degree and Master of Public Health at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. I moved to Atlanta for pediatrics residency at Emory where I quickly fell in love with the patients and the city! My favorite part of hospital medicine is watching a child improve over the course of their admission and returning to their happy self! Although, we don’t always have this outcome, I love making connections with the patients and their families over the course of their time inpatient. I enjoy the diversity in hospital medicine from the various diagnoses to multitude of specialists we work with; there is always something new to learn. My interests in medicine include advocacy, injury prevention, and medical education. I am excited to be participating in the Emory Medical Education track to learn more about teaching theories and methods to best educate future pediatricians! Beyond the hospital walls, my favorite things are being an auntie to my sweet nephew and exploring new restaurants and events around ATL. If you need any recommendations, I have a running list of my top spots!

Bayley Bennett, MD
Medical School: Medical College of Georgia in Augusta
Residency: Emory University
I am from Augusta, Georgia, and have stayed in Georgia for my entire life. I attended the University of Georgia for my undergraduate degree, attended the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta for medical school, and completed my pediatric residency at Emory University. I stayed on for an extra year as chief resident before starting PHM fellowship. During my residency, I fell in love with hospital medicine because it is not only clinically challenging with many diagnostic uncertainties but also provides the opportunity for whole patient care. I also developed a passion for the intersection of pediatric hospital medicine and informatics. Improving patient outcomes while reducing clinician burnout through informatics fascinated me, and my research and collaboration with the informatics team confirmed it. I am now an Epic Physician Builder, and my current work involves heading a workgroup focused on reducing order friction in Epic to make workflow on PHM more efficient. During my free time I enjoy walking along the trails by the Chattahoochee River with my husband, listening to podcasts, reading, hanging out with my kitties (Chedda & Hooch), and watching Netflix!
