The program recognizes that a larger than expected number of children with cancer have mutations in genes that lead to an increased risk of developing cancer. The program provides:
-
Treatment for children under the age of 18 who are at risk for developing cancer due to a cancer predisposition syndrome, a family history of cancer or a diagnosis of a rare type of cancer.
-
Comprehensive care for those at high risk of cancer due to family history or genetics, such as genetic counseling, medical evaluation and personalized tumor surveillance options.
-
Services to more than 100 patients and family members who are at risk for developing cancer because of a family history and/or mutations in cancer predisposition genes.
