Our Division is committed to teaching the principles of pediatric primary care to Emory's medical students and pediatric residents. Dr. Adams is Associate Program Director of the Emory Pediatrics residency program. Our clinic serves as the continuity clinic for Emory pediatrics residents. In addition to bedside teaching in the hospital and clinics, we provide didactic instruction on a variety of pediatric topics including childhood growth and development, common illnesses, Reach Out and Read, and the integration of social determinants of health and health disparities into pediatric care. We immerse our residents in activities that expose them to the social determinants of health, as well as to a variety of community partners, and we mentor residents in community-based projects. Our faculty embrace opportunities to teach outside of clinic in the medical school and the community. Several of us are proud recipients of departmental, medical school, and national teaching awards.
