Research interests: Type 1 diabetes, short stature and growth hormone disorders.
I was born in Sudan, North Africa but was raised in Saudi Arabia. I completed my medical education in Sudan and spent 2 years in Qatar doing pediatric residency. I moved to the US in early 2020 and lived in Atlanta GA for a year and a half. I have completed my pediatric residency training in the heart of the Midwest, Springfield IL.
I first became interested in pediatric endocrinology soon after graduating medical school during some voluntary work in a childhood diabetes center in Sudan. Joining Emory will help my growth and development as an endocrinologist. Out of work I enjoy spending time with family, cooking, reading, and watching series.
Christopher Hidalgo, MD
Fellowship Year: 2 (Class of 2027)
Medical School: St. George’s University School of Medicine
Residency: Jersey Shore University Medical Center
I grew up in Long Island, New York, and attended St. George's University in Grenada for medical school. I completed my pediatric residency at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, NJ, where I developed a passion for endocrinology, particularly in puberty and gender-affirming care. I'm excited to be moving to Atlanta for the first time and look forward to embracing everything the city has to offer. I enjoy visiting museums and arcades and am eager to explore Atlanta.
Our graduates have gone on to positions in academic medicine, hospital-employed roles, private practice, and federal civil service.
