Fellows spend time rotating through the following specialties, focusing the majority of their time in orthopedics, radiology, and procedures.
Fellows are expected to participate in teaching activities within the division, including giving fellows conference, bedside teaching, and scheduled teaching shifts in the ER.
Members of the division of pediatric emergency medicine are actively engaged in various committees including Teaching council, Quality Improvement committee, Community Outreach committee, Injury Prevention. Fellows should participate in at least one committee, based on their interests.
There are many opportunities for scholarship in the division of pediatric emergency medicine. Fellows should plan on having an academic product at the end of their fellowship year which could include a case report, research or quality improvement project, poster presentation at a conference, PEM blog post, etc.
