Medical Student Education

Undergraduate medical education is one of Emory Otolaryngology's top academic priorities. Student rotations combine a structured curriculum with ample opportunity for hands-on experience and individualized attention.

Undergraduate Medical Education Spotlights

Emory Otolaryngology's approach to medical student education seeks to ensure that all students obtain fundamental knowledge in our surgical specialty, as well as to mentor students interested in a career in otolaryngology.

M2 Clinical Elective

This program aims to educate students to the degree that they can identify areas of interest in preparation for the clinical years and the discovery phase of medical school. Students participate in clinics and possibly surgery.

Otolaryngology Clinical Elective

Two- and four-week clinical sub-internships focus on otolaryngology surgery and inpatient and outpatient care. Rotations are designed for individuals that are working towards a career in otolaryngology.

Discovery Phase

This portion of the Emory School of Medicine curriculum is a five-month rotation dedicated to research or public service activities. Medical students may choose from structured, hypothesis-driven project ideas developed by otolaryngology faculty mentors.
