Residents on the spine service work with some of the most influential spine surgery faculty in the United States. Residents participate in a high operative volume service to an extent appropriate for their PGY level, with graduated autonomy increasing with increasing years. Residents learn critical diagnostic skills and formulation of surgical and non-surgical management plans for patients with a wide variety of spine pathology. Case variety ranges from single-level minimally invasive surgeries to complex occipitocervical fusions and large deformity corrections. Residents work in parallel with fellows to ensure a favorable experience for all trainees. Case conference and education occurs each Thursday and Friday morning.
