Codman Neurotrauma and Critical Care Fellowship
This annual grant is in the area of basic or applied clinical research in the field(s) of neurotrauma and/or critical care. Sponsored by Codman, this grant will be competitively awarded to a neurosurgery resident in training, or within 2 years of finishing the program. The amount of the award is $40,000.
National Neurotrauma Society
The National Neurotrauma Society offers several awards for trainees. At their annual symposium, the top 16 highest-scoring abstracts are displayed at the meeting site in a featured location for the duration of the symposium. These abstracts receive a final judging at the conference. All 16 poster finalists receive a certificate, and the top five receive books from Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, and a monetary prize of $500 from the National Neurotrauma Symposium. The top three also receive a one-year subscription to the Developmental Neuroscience journal.
ACS Resident Trauma Papers Competition
The American College of Surgeons offers an annual research competition open to all general surgery residents, surgical specialty residents, and trauma fellows. Abstracts are first submitted to the Committee of Trauma Regional Directors, who select one abstract that will go on to the national competition. Georgia is in Region Four.
