Residents have 5 to 6 hours of didactic time each week, comprised of sessions given by faculty, visiting lecturers, and residents. Didactic sessions include dermatology core curriculum lectures, dermatopathology scope sessions, grand rounds, and journal club. Didactics take place every Tuesday morning from 8am to 9am and Thursday mornings from 8am to noon.
Core Textbook-Based Curriculum
The core curriculum dermatology lectures are organized into units, following along with Bolognia’s Dermatology textbook. Lectures are given by faculty, residents, and visiting lecturers. At the end of every unit, there is a comprehensive review session, emphasizing high-yield information for clinical practice and board exam preparation.
