Welcome to Emory Dermatology!
As you explore our website, I hope you will discover the rich combination of qualities that makes our department unique. We serve diverse communities of patients in Atlanta and beyond at an array of facilities, including tertiary referral centers like The Emory Clinic, Emory University Hospital, Emory University Hospital Midtown, Winship Cancer Institute, and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, as well as through our renowned county hospital Grady Memorial Hospital and the Atlanta VA Medical Center.
Our world-class training programs are supported by experienced and talented educators, who are committed to cultivating our learners to pursue their passions and reach their potential. We engage in innovative research ranging from basic to translational to clinical and focus deliberately on underserved and understudied diseases, populations, and disciplines, such as hidradenitis suppurativa, blistering disorders, atopic dermatitis and itch, LGBTQ patients, skin of color, alopecia, ethics, global health, teledermatology, inpatient dermatology and ethnobotany. We are leaders in our communities and in professional organizations in dermatology and beyond.
Of the many virtues of Emory Dermatology, our people remain our greatest asset. We value excellence, diversity, service, leadership, innovation, collegiality and humility. We are a family of professionals committed to supporting each other. Our alumni are critical to our success.
We are grateful to those who have grown our department in the past, including Dr. Bob Swerlick, who recently served as Chair of Emory Dermatology for over 15 years and continues to be a visionary leader. Fueled by those who've come before us, we are committed to the addressing the dermatological problems of today and excited by the future.
I hope you will join us and experience all that our department has to offer!
