Emory Faculty ID

The EmoryCard is the official Identification Card of Emory University and can be obtained on the first floor of the Boisfeuillet Jones Building, Room 101. The office is open Monday thru Friday from 8:30am until 4:30pm and can be contacted at 404-727-6095. The EmoryCard also permits access to facilities and events and can be used to purchase goods and services at the university and at community merchants. The card allows common university area access (such as access to the Woodruff Library).

DUO Security

Emory has enabled two-factor authentication, provided by Duo Security, across a number of sensitive systems. These include: Outlook Web Access (e-mail), PeopleSoft HR, OPUS, Compass, VPN, Healthcare VDT, and others. You will only be required to use Duo when you connect to these services from an off-campus location.

Duo two-factor authentication is a smartphone app that will prompt you to confirm your login request when you login with your NetID and password to one of the Duo-protected systems mentioned below. Simply confirm the request, and you’ll be logged in. Alternatively, you can enter a code sent to you via text message, or receive a phone call on your cell phone or landline.

If you work in a location without cell phone reception or are not in one particular location throughout the day, you may have difficulty accessing the Emory Virtual Desktop. While this issue is being addressed, there are currently three options:
  1. Sending a push notification to the Duo Mobile app on your smartphone that you acknowledge to confirm your identity
  2. Entering passcode that you requested via the Duo Authentication prompt, or that you generated on your Duo Mobile app, or displayed on a hardware token
  3. Responding to a phone call that was sent to your mobile phone or landline
Note that any of the systems that are on Emory network ports at the VA will be able to get on without going through Duo.
