Dr. Octav Cristea featured in Space Madness Episode 30: Space Medicine

Congratulations to Dr. Octav Cristea, one of our valued secondary faculty members, whose innovative work continues to elevate Emory Urology.
With research focus on space medicine, Dr. Cristea is advancing our understanding of urologic issues in extreme environments, including spaceflight. His collaborations with NASA experts and his numerous publications underscore his leadership in this emerging field. He is also partnering with the American Urological Association to develop this year’s history exhibit on urology in extreme environments.
Following a recent grand‑rounds presentation at Emory, Dr. Cristea was invited to appear on a local space‑themed podcast—timely recognition as interest grows in urologic challenges highlighted by the current medical evacuation aboard the International Space Station.
