Dana Kim, BA
Dana Kim is the B.I.G. Lab's clinical coordinator. In this role, she manages all administrative tasks for the lab's various funded research studies (e.g., SAR and BOLD), including patient recruitment. She additionally handles some data management and data analysis tasks for studies such as ELECTRIG, as well as for overseeing the undergraduate students working with the lab.
Kim earned her undergraduate degrees in biology (BS) and psychology (BA) from Emory University. As part of her undergraduate studies, Kim focused on human medicine and physiology, understanding illness progression through Alzheimer's research, and understanding cognition as a model system. She leverages this academic work as part of her current involvement in B.I.G. studies focused on understanding language recovery in sub-acute stroke patients diagnosed with aphasia. This work aims to tie together the impacts of different physiological measures such as blood viscosity, depression measures, cognitive blood flow to the brain, and pharmacotherapeutic impact on how an individual recovers language function.
Originally from Smithfield, Utah, Kim is a voracious reader who enjoys adding to her book collection. Find Kim on LinkedIn.
