Vani Senthil, MD

Vani earned her undergraduate degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Augusta University before pursuing her medical degree at the Medical College of Georgia. She has distinguished herself through research, leadership and advocacy with multiple awards, including first place at the Medical Association of Georgia and a top-rated poster at the ACLP Annual Meeting. Her work focuses on women’s mental health and reducing disparities, including research on perinatal psychiatry and integrated OB/GYN–psychiatry care models. Vani has also been actively involved in advocacy through a health policy elective, engaging with legislators at the state and national level, and through community outreach supporting underserved women in rural Georgia.

• Future Plans: Hopefully a fellowship in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry and/or Women's Mental Health! Long-term, I am interested in an academic career with a focus on improving access to psychiatric care for underserved populations.
