This virtual interactive training program is intended for clinical faculty at all levels who want to learn how to effectively communicate within one's own social/professional network. The fundamental skill taught in this workshop is how to be an effective listener and speaker, especially in emotionally charged situations. The goal is to co-create a relational environment that maximizes healing of the listeners and speakers while minimizing future stress.
Among the topics to be discussed are:
- How to create a healthcare community where faculty feel psychologically safe, appreciated, valued and connected
- How to set healthy and respectful boundaries
- How to navigate challenging/sensitive conversations
- How to repair and heal from painful experiences
The practical skills participants will take away are:
- How to be relational and manage emotional reactivity
- How to actively listen, validate, and empathize
- How to be psychologically safe with others
