About RESP-NET
Background
The Respiratory Virus Hospitalization Surveillance Network (RESP-NET) conducts population-based surveillance for monitor laboratory-confirmed hospitalizations associated with influenza, COVID-19, and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) among children and adults. Surveillance is conducted in eight of Georgia’s metro-Atlanta counties as well as sites in 13 other states covering approximately 10% of the US population. Georgia EIP began influenza surveillance in 2003 and has since expanded to include surveillance for RSV (2016) and COVID-19 (2020).
