The Emory Diabetes Education Training Academy offers FREE Continuing Medical Education activities that include face-to-face and online webinar meetings. Through these lectures, healthcare providers have the opportunity to receive new recommendations from diabetes organizations and discuss difficult cases and clinical problems related to diabetes care.

These activities are approved for 1 hour continuing education credit.

Curriculum

The curriculum covers the American Diabetes Association (ADA) standards of care and the appropriate use of insulin: basal and basal-bolus regimen for patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D). In addition, the sessions cover discussions on a variety of topics including microvascular and macrovascular complications and addressing diabetes self-management barriers for patients. Physicians and mid-level providers are encouraged to share their experiences and patients’ cases and address current challenges in their clinics.
