Thank you for coming in on your day off to treat me. Your compassion regarding the pain I was experiencing was much appreciated!

I would like to say ‘Thank You To My Medical Staff Heroes’. When I was in your care from May 24 to May 29, From Morning to Night shift, everyone there done a wonderful job taking care of my health and giving me the best advice to stay alive and healthy. Keep up the good work!

I am certain that in the future, the word "HERO" will not be used very lightly. It has been such an awesome experience for all of us to know, and understand, what heroes all of you have become. We certainly could not have made it without every one of you. We are all familiar with the word hero when it refers to a military person, but you on the front line have put a greater emphasis on it. Thank each of you and hope that we are soon out of this awful situation. But in the meantime, I pray for you every day and ask God's blessings on you. As you continue to make the sacrifices you make, know that you are loved. I send a virtual hug.

Emory leads the way! To all of those who are fighting this pandemic directly and those who continue to provide us with care throughout this troubling period, thank you, thank you, thank you! Without you, we would be lost. Stay safe, be well, and again, thank you.

My health heroes are the staff at Emory University hospital where I arrived on May 23rd, then shipped to Emory Midtown for a hip replacement. Then last Saturday I was told to get an ultrasound and ended up at Emory Decator Hospital. At all three hospitals I have never been treated by a more efficient, professional and most of all a kind, caring group of people. Thank you for your compassion, kindness and the smiles I could see in your eyes above your masks! Bless all of you! Susan Stedman

Thank you for all you do to insure patients are receiving on-going service during Covid-19. The efficiency and pleasant attitudes you all exhibited during my first venture out to receive an injection were beyond outstanding. We can all learn a lot from your examples about how to always treat everyone we come into contact. May God bless and protect everyone of you.

Thank you for your tireless efforts and work in this dedicated Covid wing of the hospital. I experienced some symptoms of the virus, and was admitted to this wing pending test results. Fortunately,, my test was negative and I was moved to another floor. In the approximately 18 hours there, I received excellent care from professional people who are making sacrifices each day. From limiting the staff that come into the room, to all the PPE changes each time they enter and exit the room, I was so grateful for the selfless commitment of these heroes. My nurse Amber was fantastic and it was so obvious that she really cared about my well-being. Thanks to everyone at Emory Healthcare, and especially St Joe's.

To all the tireless healthcare workers who are taking care of everyone else's needs, I say thank you for your courage and for your devotion to the people who are in your locations. My family and friends have been blessed to not have had this virus but a lot of people did and you were there. God bless you all for what you do everyday.

A colossal thank you to ALL healthcare employees! You are deeply appreciated. My daughter, Nancy Burkett, started her career as a cardiovascular ICU nurse on unit 5E in July 2019. As a 22 year old just starting out in the world, she knew her first year would be a huge learning curve. She had a wonderful orientation experience and learned so much from outstanding veteran nurses. Then, a few months after coming off orientation, Covid 19 hit and her unit became a Covid unit and the learning curve grew steeper! What an induction into nursing she has had (and all others in their first year)! I have never prayed so much in my life- for wisdom, strength, health, and the ability to comfort others when their loved ones couldn't be there. I am super proud of all health care workers, but especially those like Nancy who have had a crazy first year of nursing! Thank you to you all and may God continue to bless each and every one of you!

Dear Nurses, Thank you for risking your lives to help, and assist, the saving and protecting of people during this pandemic. You are the backbones of any hospital, and without nurses, a hospital would not run smoothly. Thank you for being brave, and always fighting. I appreciate your hard work. I intend to become a nurse, so thank you for being my biggest role models during this time.

Dr. Anastasios Costarides is a true Champion. He is one of the best Doctors who have treated me for my illnesses through the years. Not only is his work very Professional, he cares about his patients as human beings. He's never too busy to answer any question about my Glaucoma, but he is also concerned about my Cataracts and my Cornea issues. He is so positive and calms you when you become tense about a possible treatment. Dr. Costarides, in my opinion, is the outstanding Eye Clinic Doctor. The Eye Clinic and Hospital are privileged to have him as an esteemed Staff Doctor. I'm truly thankful Dr. Costarides braved the COVID 19 Pandemic to treat my eye issues.

Thank you ALL for your support, encouragement & compassion during my unexpected extended stay. I appreciate your warm hearts & knowledgeable care. Never once have they rolled their eyes. They have always been patient and understanding. They work and communicate so well together. I have been so blessed by all involved. Thank you ALL Emory Healthcare workers for all you do, from caregiving, to research, to supporting those who are caregiving and doing extraordinary research.

I want to thank everyone involved in the care of my 93 year old mother not once but twice (COVID-19 and a later UTI while still testing positive.) She was admitted for COVID-19 from her nursing home on April 24 and released on May 6 and then again in May. During both times she received exemplary care from the minute she was transported to the ER, her stay in unit 61 COVID floor, to her release. I remember some of the names for those I talked with on a regular basis such as Dr. K, Dr. Douglas, Dr. Minnoff, Nan, and Beatrice. And those that help her and us through difficult times that I never even knew their names. I want to thank everyone for all your work and extra care to keep us informed about what was happening with my mom and putting systems in place to see and talk with her via zoom. I can't thank you all enough for being there for her and so many others. Your efforts are commendable and greatly appreciated.

Dr. Yun, Thank you for being front and center to help your patients. You were most helpful, thorough and caring as well, believe you me it makes a difference. Keep up the good work. Aging with health difficulties makes us more vulnerable, we need good doctors like yourself to help us along the path. I for one appreciate your open mind and genuine kindness for your patients. Emory's neurological team, those who work with Alzheimer's patients....you are the BEST! As a daughter-in-law of one of your Alzheimer's patients, I find so much support and help from your team. You've offered social worker appointments for us to get educated and advice, you've pointed us in the right directions, and you've been so encouraging and patient with our loved one. As she has declined, you've adjusted appointments to avoid upsetting her as best as possible. And now that covid has hit, you've reached out to check on us and keep us protected as best as you can. I am so impressed with your expertise and care! You set the standard of excellent care, and I thank you so very much that you advocate for helping us navigate through not only the uncertain world of covid but also each day through the uncertain world of Alzheimer's Disease. Thank you especially to Stephanie Vyverberg and Dr. Lah!!

Your staff was tremendous and although this was an unfortunate time to have had surgery your entire medical staff and care team provided me with excellent and compassionate care. Thank you so much for all that you did to make me feel comfortable. Special thanks to Drs. Davis and Williford who expertly guided me through this process, answered all of my questions and allayed my concerns. Lucy Bethune was wonderful in keeping me abreast of all that I needed to do in preparation for surgery and was available on so many occasions to answer my questions. Lucy is a Godsend!! Your courage, knowledge, ability to face your fears, desire to help so many, dedication to your work, and persistence through the unknown are a source of inspiration for me. While you are doing all you can to keep people's spirits high and the counts low, please be aware that I am doing the same from home. I follow CDC guidelines to the best of my ability and focus on what I can understand of science. I imagine each of you are beyond exhausted, physically and emotionally, and I am certain you and your loved ones pay a dear price through this crisis. Stay strong. Let me know if there is anything more I can do. I have a great deal of admiration for you. Each and every one of you. Some day This Too Shall Pass. While my business may be non-essential, the fact that I import wine means that we can (potentially) toast together in person to your great contribution to society. Let's figure it out, shall we? When social gatherings are deemed acceptable by science (not politics) I am open to arranging a fun and educational wine tasting. Yes. I said it. Fun. Remember that? (smiles) Your efforts now through sadness and loss will indeed pave our way to happy times ahead. Wishing you and yours the best of health and happiness.

Sarah Rose I was very impressed by your leadership in getting the Acute Respiratory Center set up in the Executive Health area. Your support of my colleague Dr. Steve Yeh, your continued communication to bridge knowledge, skill and protocol gaps and your attention to detail in our exam room and with the equipment that you already had that needed to be brought on line was all very much appreciated. At a time when so much was new, you led by treating things as business that we're trained to accomplish, not as stumbling blocks. Partnering with you and your team has been refreshing and much appreciated in my department.

I work with Georgia Power and we want you to know that we appreciate you being out on the front lines during this difficult time. This unprecedented situation has shown us how essential you are, and it is my hope you are recognized and compensated as such. Thank you!

Never got to send a letter of "Thanks" when my mother was treated at Winship several years ago. I took her there every Friday for a year, and everyone from the valets to the infusion staff, treated us respectfully, patiently, and most of all kindly. The valets would even help with taking the wheelchair out of car and assisted her into chair. One valet took to calling her "Mom". After she died I went back to thank them and several gave me a big hug and expressed words of sympathy. Even the cashier came from behind the counter to hug me. It's been 2.5 years and it left a lasting impression on me whenever I think of Emory.

Thanks to everyone at the Wound Clinic for your constant support and excellent care you provide to me and your patients. God bless all of you!

I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the hard working IM residents caring for patients on ward teams, ICUs and critical consult services across our sites. I am amazed and inspired by your dedication to your patients and each other in this challenging time. I am proud to work alongside you.

We would like to personally thank our Geriatrics team at 1525 including, Patricia Craver RN, Denise Alston (Medical Admin), and our medical assistants Tiwana McDuffie and Erica Causey, for supporting our vulnerable population during the COVID pandemic. They have been instrumental in calling and scheduling our patients, teaching them how to use video conferencing, following up on their requests and making sure they are well taken care of and do not feel alone! We appreciate our dedicated team and would not be able to support our patients without their passion, patience and compassion towards our wonderful patients. Thank you for all you do each and every day!

To the Emory employees who are literally on the front line but often forgotten (ER Greeter, Vital Signs Nurse- Intake Employee) and all of those working in the ER: You are appreciated more than you know. Your long hours, sometimes without resting and/or eating does not go unnoticed. Thank you for your compassion and patience with patients during this time, and may you receive all the goodness and blessings you deserve - now and in the future.

Thank you for all you are doing. As you know, but many of us forget, there is a lot that goes into a nurses day. And now with COVID-19 there's even more. I appreciate your technical competence, as well as your effort to comfort not only the patient, but also their families, which has to be more challenging since it's mostly done over the phone and through a mask. I'm a reasonable person, but I have a deep fear of the virus; I can't imagine going in everyday with all of the unknowns and risk, but you do...every long unpredictable shift. You deal with the rapidly changing information and protocols. You have to take many more precautions not only to protect yourself, but also patients which must make it difficult to be as efficient as your accustom. Thank you. My prayer for you is that you get the resources you need - supplies, physical and emotional support - at work and at home. I pray that you can have peace in spite of what you've seen and done. I pray that you feel loved and appreciated every day. I pray that your resilience grows and that your capacity to love yourself and others grows as well. I pray that relief will come sooner than we think.

Thank you front line workers for all that you do to make sure we are safe. I appreciate you putting your life on the line everyday for others. Stay sage and healthy! Thanks a bunch!!

Dr. Saiyed, thank you so much for leading the team so effectively from the front. You were way ahead of any guidelines and your vision helped take the patient care to another level. You took the initiative to put guidelines in place for families and visitors long before other guidelines came out. Your sacrifice of time irrespective of day or night and deep personal involvement in taking care of each patient of the facility is truly exemplary. They say and true leader shines in crisis and you absolutely did that. Thank you for the leadership you have shown to all of us around.
