Your giving of your time, offering your experience and knowledge deserves more "thank you"s than I can ever express. I know you are doing this at great personal risk, both physical and emotional. Please know that many, many of us are proud to be part of the Back Up team!

To all health care workers, support staff and their families, your courage and dedication is what is keeping my fear at bay, both for my elderly parents and myself, since I am immunocompromised. I know you are doing everything in your power to fight this virus and support those affected by it. Know that I am thankful for your sacrifice every day and it gives me hope. Also, I am, like many of my neighbors still staying home as much as possible to flatten the curve, even though some businesses have been permitted to re-open. I hope you and your loved ones will stay safe and that you have many happier days ahead.

Thank You for your dedication and sacrifices made and to your family for supporting and keeping strong to help you and others. It really means a lot to those who understand the importance of it. You and your family including your children are super heroes .

Thank you, Dr. Cotten, for leaving your newborn at home in order to work in the ICU at the VA hospital to care for our revered veterans fighting coronavirus and other health problems. You are an inspiration and a great example to your brand new son. May every good thing come his way and may your family flourish as a result of your selflessness and professional excellence.

I am giving a special shout of thanks to my awesome Team A or the “A” Team! Led by PGY-2 Melroy D’souza along Pranav Santapuram and Jake Wynne. This team rose to the occasion on Grady wards during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic when we were seeing an increase in number of patients with COVID-19 daily. With many of our patients like typical ICU patients, Melroy did an excellent job of triaging patients, prioritizing competing demands and making sure patients got the care they needed quickly. He did not anchor on admitting diagnosis and was quite astute in changing courses when necessary. There was literally a different protocol daily of best practices on how to see, triage, manage and safely discharge our patients. My team was super flexible knowledgeable and stayed on top of all task along with staying on top of the literature both for our COVID and non COVID patients. Any sort of pandemic situation requires frequent communication and our team were open and honest and kept the dialogue going on how to best manage our patients.

Ronan is our team hero! His exceptional service to patients has gained Ronan a universal reputation of a compassionate, knowledgeable, thoughtful, and extraordinarily professional provider, who has put more heart into caring for his patients, than anyone else we know! It is an honor to work alongside Ronan - a person of unsurpassed personal integrity! 

Ronan! You are our Shining Star! You are the epitome of compassion, thoughtfulness, professionalism, care, and unsurpassed personal integrity! We are honored to work alongside you, and hope to be able to continue working for years to come! Your patients absolutely love you, they request being taken care of by you because they know you always give them the VIP service! The way you are able to establish rapport with your patients is truly fascinating! Thanks Dr. Hoque, for moving my follow up appointment to a Telehealth appointment. That keeps us both safer. I'm sure you are needed now more than ever. Even though you are in Neurology instead of ER or Infectious Disease, I'm sure metro Atlanta needs all our doctors now. And thank you for sticking with me these 5 or so years, through my med changes, brain surgery, after surgery seizures, and more med changes. We've come to respect one another as people, not merely doctor and patient. To the staff, thank you for pointing me in the right direction, making my appointments, answering my portal emails...everything you do to make the Epilepsy Center flow and prep me to see Dr. Hoque. You are all very kind, friendly and professional.

You, the cleaning and janitorial service workers at all healthcare centers, are just as critical as the medical experts. Without you, NO ONE is safe. YOU are the unsung heroes of this pandemic. YOU make everything possible and safe – for the medical staff, the patients, and for all of us in turn. You put yourselves at risk every single day. THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts. And bless you and your families for your sacrifices.

Dr. John Douglas, thank you for leading the team of interventional cardiologists at Emory. It was a pleasure seeing you again a few months ago. You and your team, helped save me life five years ago. Emory is the best! Thank each of you for giving me a second chance at life! I am forever grateful!!

Hello Emory Health Heroes! Thank you for all that you are doing on the front lines. My dad was a patient in the ICU at Emory Johns Creek Hospital back in 2012 for quite some time suffering from ALS and also had a couple of stays at the Emory University Hospital. He was cared for to the highest capacity and with utmost professionalism. From that experience, I'm sure that those in Emory's care during this tough time are lucky to have such heroes on their side to advocate for them and care for them. Thank you for all that you are doing and please stay healthy and safe!

I was at Emory midtown in Dec. The ICU and post-icu staff were amazing & saved my life. I know all of them are now (& always) on the front line of saving more lives & being AMAZING IN GENERAL! THANK YOU ALL for risking so much to help so many. I'd also like to thank all those in the Emory Dept of Psychiatry, esp Dr Dunlop, for helping & doing so much for the mental health community. Emory, YOU ROCK! 💕💕💕

We are so fortunate to have you dedicated professionals at work everyday. I’m making masks to be distributed to Emory hospitals. When my back hurts or the sewing machine fights me or I burn myself with the iron (again!!) I remember all of you and my energy is renewed. I can only hope my small effort makes some difference in this fight that affects us all— the fight we would lose without YOU. My thanks to you and your loved ones. You are showing the rest of us how to be our best selves.

I have no words to use that you have not already heard before but you are truly heroic to go forward in this frightening time with the calling you have to help the sick. It has to be hard to go to work each day and know that you are exposing yourself to this virus. We all appreciate you more than we can say and you are all in my personal prayers each morning. As a stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer patient, I would like to thank the folks at Winship Cancer treatment center on Clifton. One person in particular, Resa, makes your time there tolerable. The rest of the Infusion staff are also great, but I seem to interact with her more often than not.

To All our health care Workers: Thank all of you for your selfless work to protect all our Georgia citizens, going above and beyond during this crisis. God Bless you and your families.

Keep up the good work. Now that Georgia has reopened and people start to lower their guard, it just makes the fight against COVID-19 longer and harder as your workload will increase. Thank you all from  the bottom of my heart.

The Radiographers (Technologists) that image patients every day all day are often forgotten about. They are frontline workers, a great caring bunch of people. Thank you radiographers for all you do!

We know you’re exhausted mentally and physically. We know your families and friends are worried about you. We know you go to work regardless. We know we can never repay you for all you are doing to fight the virus for us. Please know we are aware of your sacrifice! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

There's never a good time to have cancer, but I was diagnosed with cancer just as Covid 19 was taking hold. It was terrifying! I am so grateful to all Emory staff members, from the lobby entrance to the infusion center, for helping me be and feel safe as I undergo chemotherapy. They are calm, uplifting and confident. This gives me great peace every time I come for treatment. Thank you to ALL who sacrifice to serve others.

We appreciate all that you are doing to decimate this unseen enemy known as COVID-19, to care for victims of this virus, and to support one another as you work together for treatment and prevention.

Thank you for your selflessness and care for the patients you treat. You have taken care of me on many occasions, and I’m doing my best to stay home to take care of you. We’re praying for you.

We appreciate all you are doing!

I am so grateful for your dedication, devotion and passion that are all contributing to positive outcomes for this pandemic crisis! I would like to thank our wonderful staff of OSA's, Nurses and PCT's in our Critical Care Division, which includes PCU, TELE and ICU for adjusting to our new homes; wherever they are when we come to work, lol and for taking on challenges that have definitely put us out of our comfort zones to take care of our patients to the best of our ability with smiles on your faces and a purpose. What a team effort and I know for me, seeing the silver linings through our circumstances is hard to do with so much fear and anxiety all around us but I wanted to take the time to again say THANK YOU! Teresa Smith, day charge nurse on the new PCU. She did an excellent job in preparing us with supplies and info/notebooks being stocked and ready in our little nurses station on 2400 or Telemetry. She is always looking out for the staff and I know I can not keep up with her energy but God love her and I appreciate her leadership and love for her staff and patients. 

To the guys who put up the outside tent for the healthcare workers to ensure they have an overflow room for patients; Thank you! You guys risk your life daily to ensure all of electrical components, in our hospital for the doctors, nurses et al., are operational. You guys have not received enough appreciation,”. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Thanks so much for taking on this additional duty, welcoming visitors at entrances, keeping them safe while having to restrict access. Many of you are so pleasant and open and I know this means a lot to patients who already have so much on their minds. Thank you.

I would like to say 'THANK YOU' to the Emory Information Services Team- Specifically Field Services. I appreciate your dedication and support of all of our other front line workers. You are one of the many unsung heroes. Unlike many of the other IS team members you guys have had to remain in the offices, hospitals and clinics to be there to support any hardware, software or technical issues that arise so that medical staff can focus on patients. Stephanie Bell recently came to our Interventional Radiology department as a new ESP nurse. She unexpectedly went out for medical reasons at the start of the pandemic. Since she couldn't work with us, she worked for us. She rallied some friends to make yummy goodies, caps and masks for the nurses and technologists in the Interventional Radiology department. The efforts from her and her friends was so warm and wonderful that we have kept them on our huddle board and at least someone is wearing those items everyday. Thank you, Stephanie and we can't wait until you can return to work!!!

I would like to say thank you to all the brave hard working doctors who are putting their life on the line and on hold to battle this unprecedented pandemic. YOU ROCK. You are all my heroes and sheroes.

Even though I am helping by staying home to try to keep the number of cases down, I feel a bit helpless. To the people who clean and sanitize: You are heroes. You are on the frontline of the frontline. Do you know that you are appreciated for EVERYTHING you do?? You are. You make it possible to treat people who are sick with this virus. We are #emorytogether because of you.

I'm so amazed by our nurses, phlebotomists, and nursing techs!! They have the most exposure to COVID and have handled it with such determination, compassion, and grace. So happy to be part of your team!

To all of my Hospital Medicine colleagues: I already knew this was an exceptional group. But the response to COVID by HMS across the system has been next level amazing. It's very inspirational to work with you all and to collaborate with our wonderful subspecialty colleagues (Critical care, ED, ID, Heme, and nephrology to name a few). It's also been wonderful to collaborate with our outpatient IM colleagues who have been doing an outstanding job and have been ready to jump in and help us on the inpatient side from the very beginning. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I would like to say a special thank you to Francois Rollin who has been tirelessly working with our Grady team to provide daily data to all relevant stakeholders. I couldn't just send it to a specific individual because to me all of them, doctors, nurses, etc., etc., are doing a great job and I personally, have been praying for all of them. The stories that we see on television, of the problems of not having all the equipment that they need to do their job. They are really amazing people and they should be recognize and let them know how all of us feel about them. Thank you for being a front-line healthcare worker during these rough times. Thank you for putting your life at risk to help other people return to their loved ones. Thank you for being a great nurse but most of all thank you for just being you. 

To Healthcare workers, small business owners, grocery store employees, letter carriers, waste disposal personnel.

Dear Health Heroes, Some of you I know, and some of you I don't, but you have done these things:
Checked me out at the grocery store and cleaned and disinfected the store, and you have restocked shelves as quickly as possible; consistently taken away household trash and recycling; opened a mini-market alongside your restaurant where you are keeping afloat with takeout and delivery. You are locally owned, and your support of the community is evident; you have delivered my mail and my online orders timely; you have provided telehealth sessions and physical therapy; you have been family and friends for my friends who had to be hospitalized for cancer treatments, when their close family had to stay at home; you have answered my messages to the portal timely, despite being pressed on all sides; you created telehealth appointments with 3 - 4 people involved in making sure that I received excellent, timely, thorough care, without respect to all that might be going on in your own lives. I may not know you if you cared for someone who has COVID-19, but putting your own health/life on the line may be more than you ever signed up to do, but you have faced your fears and you have been there for that person/s. You deserve a medal and a vacation. I cannot thank you all enough for your support. My stay-at-home contribution is small, but yours is great, and it is an honor to be served by you.
