DOM Staff Spotlight
Kiara Pullum
Administrative Assistant for the Department of Medicine
Tell us about yourself. Where are you from?
I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. As I got older, I wanted to experience life in the city, so I left Brooklyn and moved to Manhattan, which was exciting and hectic to say the least! New York was all I knew; I had lived there my entire life until I had the amazing opportunity to move to Atlanta.
What is your professional background?
I have five years of administrative experience across higher education and healthcare. I have held administrative roles at NYU, NYU Langone Health, and the Brooklyn Public Library.
How long have you worked in the Department of Medicine?
I started in October 2025!
What are you currently working on? Any upcoming projects?
I’m currently involved in a mix of exciting projects. I’m organizing a non-traditional staff luncheon to create a fun, social event for our DOM staff, while keeping leadership organized through a variety of scheduling needs. On top of that, I am here to help coordinate day-to-day support for my department.
What do you like to do for fun outside of work?
Now that I'm here, I hope to become more active in hobbies that interest me, such as dance, pottery, reading, maybe take some horse riding and scuba diving lessons, and whatever else randomly pops in my head!
