Bucksbaum-Siegler Institute honors Shelly-Ann Fluker, MD
Shelly-Ann Fluker, MD (General Internal Medicine), will be honored as the 2026 recipient of the Bucksbaum-Siegler Institute for Clinical Excellence National Award, which recognizes exceptional dedication to clinical excellence and the advancement of the doctor-patient relationship.
Dr. Fluker is also incredibly grateful for her mentors, who include her Primary Care Track program director, Dr. Jane Sillman, and mentors in the Grady section of the Division of General Internal Medicine, Jada Bussey-Jones, MD, MACP, Stacy Higgins, MD, Danielle Jones, MD, Kimberly Manning, MD, MACP, and Lesley Miller, MD. She is fortunate to witness and be inspired often by the clinical excellence of her colleagues and the residents. She feels that awards like this will continue to highlight the importance of clinical excellence. By teaching our trainees in particular about clinical excellence, it is her hope that they will always be able to find joy in caring for their patients and always remain dedicated to the privilege of patient care.
