I knew after my interview day that Emory was the right place for me. The residents and faculty were all welcoming and the camaraderie that was displayed was genuine. Everyone truly seemed happy, which is important when choosing a training program with individuals with whom you will spend a great deal of your time. It was also satisfying to see the wonderful diversity that exists within the program, both as it relates to the individuals and the opportunities that are available for you to tailor your interests within the field of Family Medicine.
Emory is also located within the great city of Atlanta, which for me as a Georgia native, means being close to family and friends. I chose Family Medicine because of the comprehensive and integrated nature of the specialty. I've always known that I wanted to practice primary care and build long-lasting relationships with my patients while also striving to make a difference in the lives of those in my surrounding community.
