Why Emory EM?
I chose Emory EM because it was the only program where I truly felt a sense of community among the residents and faculty, and saw how that carried on into the way the program serves its patients. I was also drawn to the wide range of clinical training, with exposure to high-acuity patients across county, academic, and community hospital settings, a combination that is difficult to find elsewhere. Beyond the clinical experience, I genuinely felt welcomed and supported at Emory during my sub internship, which reinforced that this was a place where I could thrive both personally and professionally.

5- year plan
In five years, I see myself practicing emergency medicine in a community or critical access hospital, caring for underserved populations. Giving back through mentorship is something I want to make a lasting part of my career, so I also see myself establishing a mentorship/scholarship program for Black medical students, inspired by the support and opportunities that helped me reach this point.
What would you be doing if you weren’t in Emergency Medicine?
I would probably be a pilot!
