Taryn Trigler

Taryn completed her undergraduate degrees in Biomedical Engineering and Mathematics at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where she conducted research in the field of materials science for manufacturing of pediatric tracheal splints. She began the BCDB program at Emory in 2024 and joined Dr. Marcin Grabowicz’s lab, where her thesis work utilizes tools from biochemistry and bacterial genetics to characterize an essential system for construction of the bacterial outer membrane as an antibiotic target. This work will enable development of novel therapeutics that directly target the biogenesis of the barrier that normally excludes them.
