Madison received her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry with a minor in Medical Pharmacology from The Ohio State University in 2024, where she worked in the lab of Jane Jackman using biochemistry to study novel tRNA modification enzymes, completing an undergraduate Honors thesis on her work. She joined Emory's Biochemistry, Cell and Developmental Biology (BCDB) program in 2024, and shortly after joined the lab of Sohail Khoshnevis in the Biochemistry Department of Emory School of Medicine. Her work in the Khoshnevis lab aims to investigate translational control of C. albicans virulence genes by eukaryotic translation initiation factor 3 (eIF3) using a blend of biochemistry, microbiology, and structural biology techniques.
