Parking

Free parking for Grand Rounds attendance is available after 4pm in the Lowergate South Deck (the entry gate is lifted after that time). 
The Lowergate South Deck is located off of Clifton/North Decatur Road close to the law school. 
The entrance is off of Gambrell Drive (a right turn off of Clifton Road when you are heading toward the hospital from N Decatur Rd), and is across from the new J-wing hospital building. 
From the Lowergate lot, there is a covered/glass walkway into the hospital.

Dr. Keith H. Baker, 9/11/19

Dr. Keith H. Baker is the Vice Chair of Education at the Partners Healthcare and a leader in graduate medical education. He was the Program Director for the Anesthesia Residency Program at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, where he served in this role from 2002 – 2015. In 2008 Dr. Baker was appointed Vice Chair of Education at MGH Department of Anesthesia, Critical Care, and Pain Medicine, and was responsible for resident and faculty education and development. He has been actively involved in the development of education administration, curriculum planning, and development of the didactic training. He introduced the New Innovations system to improve online evaluation of the residents by the faculty, resident evaluation of rotations, and resident deployment.

Dr. Baker continues to be a national leader in education, lecturing on cognitive approaches to teaching and learning, and has published multiple peer-reviewed articles in JAMA, Anesthesiology, Anesthesia and Analgesia and Academic Medicine on simulation-based assessment, physician behaviors, and how resident staffing models impact sleep behaviors. In 2012 Dr. Baker was awarded the Program Director of the year at Partners Healthcare, and in 2014 he was awarded the Parker J. Palmer Courage to Teach award from the ACGME, which honors program directors who find innovative ways to teach residents and to provide quality health care while remaining connected to the initial impulse to care for others in this environment.

Dr. Maurice Middleton, 9/19/19

Mr. Maurice Middleton is the Senior Director for the Office of Equity and Inclusion. Mr. Middleton provides leadership for issues related to diversity, equity and inclusion, EO/AA Compliance, EEO Investigations, and Title IX education for faculty and staff at Emory University. He monitors the university-wide compliance on these issues and recommends corrective measures to ensure compliance. He implemented a university-wide online training program on Title IX which has provided education for 10,000 employees in an effort to create a safe university culture. He has also trained over 3,000 employees in his Courtesy and Respect training, which provides guidance on federal guidelines and compliance of discrimination and harassment in the workplace.

Mr. Middleton was selected for the Award of Distinction in 2017, an honor given by President Claire Sterk, to staff members who have made outstanding contributions to the Emory community.  He earned his B.A. in Behavioral Science from Lynn University in Boca Raton, FL and is currently completing his Jurist Master from Emory University School of Law.
